What is Brand Identity Design?

It is almost like the reputation your brand has created in the minds of your customers, clients, and users. You can’t create a brand but you can influence it in different ways, one of these being brand identity design.

Brand Identity is usually the first touchpoint your customers will engage with – your logo, website, advertising, corporate stationery, packaging, social media, signage, etc and first visual impressions count. It only takes 0.1 seconds for someone to make up their mind and form an opinion about you. And this is the same for your companies branding.

A Brand Identity is a visual language that you give to your brand that will hopefully reflect the quality of your product or service. We can help you to put your best foot forward and stand out from your competition.

What if I don’t like the design?

Before we start any project, we will discuss your business, goals, audience, competitor landscape, and brand personality/positioning. This will help set project requirements and guide the design process. You will be involved at every important milestone so you can be confident your brand identity will be in line with what is the correct decision for your business and customers.

What files will I receive?

Depending on the project brief and requirements, this will include deliverables such as a cohesive brand guideline document, logo files, stationery, website files, social media graphics, and any other printed literature agreed upon. Most files will be supplied in either web optimised (RGB) assets or print-ready (CMYK) .pdf files. Brand Identity logo files will include .jpg, .png, .svg files in both full colour and reverse versions. If required, you will also receive business guidance, consultation, and support throughout the length of the project.

What price do you charge?

Brand identity pricing can widely vary depending on whether you choose an established design agency or a young in-experienced freelancer and your project requirements. With our experience, tried and tested processes, and quick turnaround times, we are able to bring an agency-level design to your project while keeping it efficient and cost-effective.

Prices will vary depending on a number of factors as the creative process isn’t a one size fits all solution. Our approach is centered on helping solve your business challenges or capitalise on an opportunity rather than to simply ‘design a graphic’ or ‘create a logo’. Ballpark figures are usually between £3-5k for a strategic brand identity for a small-to-medium-sized business and £6-8k for the design & development of a standard website.

All our costs are fully transparent and we will notify you when your project has reached 80% of the agreed budget so there is no misunderstanding when the project is complete and invoiced.

Do you require a deposit?

For most standard projects, we usually request a 30%-50% deposit to book your project. Once the project has been completed and delivered, the client will have 30 calendar days to settle the remainder of the invoice.

Who will own the copyright?

Once the invoice has been paid in full, the client will have full licence to use, adapt and change the files to suit their future needs. The client may use the project files for any purpose that they wish. Any included documentation and ‘explainer’ media are not to be distributed without permission and remain the copyrighted property of Kris Byers Design. We reserve the right to showcase the work in my portfolio and on social media.

How long will it take?

The length of the design process depends on the exact requirements of the project and client responsiveness. A strategic branding project and website roughly takes between 1-2 weeks from concept to delivery depending on content. We can guarantee this because of our tried and tested intensive model we have refined over years.
